On August 31st, a police officer in Taiwan’s Hsinchu County shot and killed a Vietnamese migrant worker. The police and a government worker were responding to a report of a car theft. Police said the 27-year-old "runaway" Vietnamese worker, Nguyen Quoc Phi, resisted arrest, hit the worker and tried to flee in the police car. They said he was shot at nine times. Migrants and activists suspect excessive use of force and demand a thorough investigation and transparent revelation of what happened. Here’s what they said at a recent protest.
