The Taiwan Lantern Festival is being held in Taoyuan this year and organizers say it is worth visiting during the day when the lights are not turned on.
The annual festival's exhibition 32-hectare site near the Taoyuan high-speed rail station features ponds and a river.
Several displays using light-emitting diodes, including a field of roses, offer visitors an amazing panorama even under natural daylight.
The festival, which runs through March 6, opens at 2 p.m. from Tuesday to Thursday and at 10 a.m. the other days of the week.
