Taiwan, Poland sign scientific, higher education cooperation deal

Taipei, July 31 (CNA) Taiwan and Poland recently signed an agreement to enhance bilateral cooperation in the fields of science and higher education, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) announced Tuesday.

The agreement was signed in both countries by their top envoys on July 27, on behalf of Poland's Ministry of Science and Higher Education, and Taiwan's Ministry of Education and Ministry of Science and Technology, according to a MOFA statement.

Based on the agreement, the countries will continue to enhance the exchange of undergraduates, graduate students and scholars through research projects, training courses, seminars, and higher education-related activities, while encouraging those interested to apply for scholarships.

In addition, the pact also introduces measures to encourage Chinese-language and Polish-language educators to take up teaching positions in each other's country, it added.
