Minor earthquake rocks Taipei

Taipei, Feb. 9 (CNA) A magnitude 3.2 earthquake jolted Taipei at 4:20 p.m. Saturday, according to the Central Weather Bureau (CWB).

The quake was centered at the capital city's Shilin District, about 11.5 kilometers northwest of Taipei City Hall and at a depth of 9.1 km, the bureau's Seismology Center said.

The earthquake's intensity, which gauges the actual effect of a temblor, was measured at 1 on Taiwan's 7-tier intensity scale in Taipei, Yangmingshan and Wugu District of New Taipei, according to CWB data.
