Chairman of Taoyuan airport management company resigns

Taipei, Oct. 9 (CNA) Taoyuan International Airport Corp. Chairman Tseng Dar-jen (曾大仁) resigned Tuesday, saying that he wanted to take a break, according to the Ministry of Transportation.

Tseng, who became chairman of the airport management company in June 2016, will be replaced temporarily by Deputy Transportation Minister Chi Wen-jong (祁文中), the ministry said.

According to the ministry, Tseng, who is in his 60s, had indicated months ago, before Transportation Minister Wu Hong-mo (吳宏謀) took office in July, that he wished to resign because he was tired. Hsiao Ting-ko (蕭登科), general manager of the company, will remain in his current post, the ministry said.

Chi, 60, had held various transportation-related positions before he became deputy minister in October 2016, including posts at the Taipei City Traffic Engineering Office, Freeway Bureau, Transportation Bureau of the Taichung City government, Maritime Port Bureau and Institute of Transportation.
