Taipei, Oct. 8 (CNA) The weather in northern Taiwan will turn cool and wet on Wednesday, the National Day holiday, according to the Central Weather Bureau (CWB).

As seasonal northeasterly winds strengthen, temperatures are likely to drop to lows of 20 degree Celsius on the national holiday, the CWB said Monday.

Meanwhile, due to the influence of the seasonal winds, showers can be expected Monday in parts of northern, eastern and southern Taiwan, including the Hengchun Peninsula, the bureau said.

Clear to cloudy skies are forecast for the rest of the country, it added.

Daytime highs on Monday will range from 28-32 degrees, with lows hovering around 22-24 degrees, according to the CWB.

The northeasterly winds are expected to weaken slightly on Tuesday before strengthening the following day, the bureau said.
