Unstable weather for Sunday, rain to come next week

Taipei, June 10 (CNA) Affected by a low depression in the Pacific Ocean, unstable weather has been forecast across Taiwan on Sunday, and the public must stay alert for heavy rainfall in the days ahead, the Central Weather Bureau (CWB) said.

As a front system from the north is expected to converge with a cloud system introduced by the low depression, chances of rain are high throughout Taiwan from Sunday to Monday morning, the bureau said.

Highs across Taiwan will rise above 32 degrees Celsius, with the mercury likely to climb to 34-35 degrees in central and southern Taiwan, it forecast.

On Monday and Tuesday, it will rain in all parts of Taiwan and the weather will become cooler, the bureau said.

From Wednesday to Saturday, however, moisture will increase due to an approaching stationary front from the south, which will bring heavy rain in some parts of the country, according to the bureau.

Meanwhile, tropical storm Maliksi is moving toward the sea south of Japan and will have no impact on Taiwan, it said.
