Taipei, May 15 (CNA) A recent wave of measles is over as the incubation period for the disease has passed for all individuals under observation, Taiwan's Centers for Disease Control (CDC) said Tuesday.

CDC Deputy Director-General Philip Lo (羅一鈞) said observation and monitoring of all individuals who came into contact with carriers of the virus as part of the recent disease cluster has ended.

According to CDC statistics, 24 confirmed cases of measles have been reported in Taiwan this year, of which 17 were contracted domestically and 7 abroad.

Domestically, a total of 7,563 individuals who came into contact with measles carriers and were placed under observation have now completed the period of observation, CDC data showed.
