Rainy across Taiwan, cool in the north

Taipei, Nov. 12 (CNA) Due to the arrival of northeasterly winds and a cloud system from the south, the weather across Taiwan on Sunday will be rainy, according to the Central Weather Bureau.

It will be cooler in the early morning and at night throughout the country, with daytime highs ranging between 22-29 degrees Celsius and lows from 20-22 degrees, the bureau said.

In the north, it will be cool for the whole day, while all the regions will experience brief showers, it said.

A heavy rain warning has been issued for five cities and counties -- Taipei, New Taipei, Keelung cities, and Yilan and Hualien counties.

Meanwhile, tropical storm Haikui has formed over the Pacific. It was located some 910 kilometers west-southwest off Erluanbi -- Taiwan's southernmost tip -- Sunday morning, the bureau said. However, it forecast that the storm will move toward the Indochina Peninsula and will not pose a threat to Taiwan.
