Taipei, July 17 (CNA) The body of a Vietnamese hospital worker was found on Monday after firefighters extinguished a fire at a private residence in Yilan County, according to firefighters.

Firefighters said they were informed at around 8 a.m. of the fire at a private house in the town of Yuanshan. The fire was brought under control at about 8:10 a.m., but the body of the female worker was found on the floor of a second floor bedroom.

The 57-year-old woman was earlier reported to be Indonesian, but was later confirmed to have been a Vietnamese surnamed Pham, who was divorced and had obtained Republic of China (Taiwan) citizenship.

Firefighters have determined that the fire started on the second floor, but they said further investigation is needed to identify the cause of the blaze.

The landlord of the house, who lives nearby, said the deceased served as a caregiver at the Yuanshan branch of Taipei Veterans General Hospital.

Another person also lived in the house, but authorities have not said whether that individual was in the house at the time of the fire.
