Taipei, Jan. 31 (CNA) Former President Lee Teng-hui (李登輝) was discharged from Taipei Veterans General Hospital (TVGH) Thursday and returned home after his health improved.

Lee, 96, was allowed to go home after blood tests and computerized tomography examinations showed that his condition has stabilized, Wang Yan-chun (王燕軍), secretary-general of the Lee Teng-hui Foundation, told CNA on the phone.

The former president will be taken care of at home by his medical team as before, Wang said.

Lee was admitted to hospital Nov. 29 after falling at home and hitting his head on the floor earlier in the day, resulting in a minor injury to his right eye and nose bleed.

He was later determined to have suffered a brain bleed and kept in hospital for observation.
