Women increasingly fond of sports, travel products: bookstore

Taipei, April 8 (CNA) Books.com.tw (博客來), Taiwan's largest online bookstore, said Saturday that its female consumers are increasingly fond of merchandise and books that help them pursue beauty on the inside and out.

The bookstore, which has over 5 million female members, said it has witnessed a growth in interest in inspirational and empowering books, as well as products related to sports, cosmetics, fashion, travel, movies and food, among its female consumers in recent years.

For example, sales of female sports clothing and underwear have increased by over 20 percent in recent years, while sales of cosmetics are rising by about 10 percent per year, the bookstore said.

Products related to travel, movies and food have also witnessed growth in sales, it said.

Empowering books written by local psychiatrists or counseling psychologists are also gaining popularity among its female consumers, the bookstore said.
