Gogoro releases new scooter targeting young men: executive

Taipei, March 13 (CNA) Taiwan-based electric scooter company Gogoro released a new smart scooter Wednesday targeting male customers, following the successful targeting of female buyers by the Gogoro 2 Delight Smartscooter.

The new smart scooter, the Gogoro 2 Rumbler, is designed with a street-style look to attract young male buyers, Gogoro Marketing Director Chen Yen-yang (陳彥揚) said Wednesday

Citing the Gogoro 2 Delight as the most popular smart scooter among young women, Chen said it is believed that the Gogoro 2 series will also lead to sharp sales growth by targeting young men.

According to Gogoro, the most special aspect of the Gogoro 2 Rumbler is that it uses the world's first dual anti-theft protection system, which includes an automatic sensor unlocking function that allows the owner to unlock the scooter by holding their smartphone near the scooter's wheel and pressing the "Go" button.

In addition, once the scooter is parked, the system can detect when the rider has left and will automatically lock, Gogoro noted.
