Washington, Nov. 5 (CNA) Taiwan was listed among eight countries that have received waivers from United States sanctions on imports of oil from Iran, after the Donald Trump administration renewed its sanctions against the oil producer Friday.

Other countries receiving waivers were China, Greece, India, Italy, Turkey, South Korea, and Japan, U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced at a press conference on Monday.

Pompeo and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin announced the imposing of a second round of sanctions on Iran on Nov. 2, calling the regime a destabilizing force in the Middle East.
