Taipei, March 16 (CNA) EasyCard Corp. and Citibank, a credit card issuer, announced their agreement Thursday to launch co-branded credit cards, making Citibank the first foreign bank in Taiwan to jointly launch such cards with EasyCard.

EasyCard Chairman Kenneth Lin (林向愷) said that the joint collaboration will help with the card's efforts to become more internationalized.

Following its collaboration with Citibank, EasyCard now has partnerships with all major credit card issuers in Taiwan.

EasyCard is one of the most popular stored value cards issued in Taiwan, and are accepted on the Taipei and Kaohsiung metro systems, the Taoyuan airport MRT line and Taiwan Railways Administration trains, as well as at convenience stores and supermarkets.

EasyCard-Citibank co-branded cards offer card users 10 percent cash back for using it on the Taipei metro system, as well as 10 percent discounts for purchasing tickets for non-reserved seats on high speed rail trains.
