Taipei, Aug. 29 (CNA) Taiwanese markswoman Lin Ying-shin (林穎欣) bagged a bronze medal in the 10-meter women's air rifle event at the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on Wednesday, securing an Olympic spot in the process.

Lin, 20, qualified in sixth place for the final with a score of 628.9, where she scored 229.9 for third place.

India's Elavenil Valarivan and British markswoman Seonaid McIntosh claimed gold and silver with scores of 251.7 and 250.6, respectively.

With her bronze medal, Lin becomes Taiwan's third markswoman, after Tien Chia-chen (田家榛) and Wu Chia-ying (吳佳穎), to secure a place at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.

Tien secured an Olympic berth after placing fourth last year in the women's 25-meter air pistol event at the ISSF World Championship in Changwon, South Korea, and Wu sealed an Olympic place after winning a women's 10-meter air pistol silver at the ISSF World Cup 2019 in New Delhi, in February.
