Taipei, Jan. 4 (CNA) Taiwan tennis pair, Latisha Chan (詹詠然) and Chan Hao-ching (詹皓晴), won a tough match to secure a spot in the finals of the Brisbane International women's doubles Friday.

The Chan sisters topped Gabriela Dabrowski of Canada and Xu Yifan of China in a close three set match that lasted 81 minutes.

The Taiwanese duo started out strong, taking advantage of early mistakes by their opponents to take the first set 6-2.

However, Dabrowski and Xu found their rhythm in the second set which they won 4-6.

That took the match into a third set decider which the Taiwanese pair clinched with a nail-biting super tiebreak victory 1-0 (10-8).

The Chan sisters meet American Nicole Melichar and Czech Kvetoslava Peschke in the finals of the women's doubles on Saturday.

The 2019 Brisbane International is a tournament on the 2019 ATP World Tour and 2019 WTA Tour, with a purse of US$1 million.
