Los Angeles, Oct. 15 (CNA) A documentary following the later years of Taiwanese pitcher Chien-Ming Wang's (王建民) professional baseball career will be screened in America in the two largest theater chains in the United States from Friday, according to a statement issued by the Taiwan Center Foundation of Greater Los Angeles.

The documentary, titled "Late Life: The Chien-Ming Wang Story" featuring the former New York Yankees pitcher, will first hit theaters in Los Angeles, Washington and Houston from Friday, followed by New York from Oct. 26 and Seattle from Nov. 2, according to the statement.

The documentary was selected for the Orlando Film Festival, the Center for Asian American Media Festival (CAAMFest) and the Vancouver Asian Film Festival this year and is scheduled to hit movie theaters in Taiwan in mid-December, according to the statement.

Wang has said he hopes the film will inspire young people to pursue their ideals and dreams and not to give up on their goals, the statement said.
