Taipei, Aug. 30 (CNA) Taiwan's Yu Kai-wen (余凱文) and Cheng Chu-ling (鄭竹玲) grabbed gold in the mixed doubles soft tennis final at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta, Indonesia, on Thursday.

The Taiwanese duo defeated Kim Ki-sung and Mun Hye-gyeong of South Korea 5-3.

"It was a perfect game," said team coach Yeh Yu-ming (葉育銘), adding that the pair worked together well on court and remained aware of each other's moves at all times.

Yeh said the duo changed tactics after the first set because Yu was developing muscle cramps, and they decided to take an offensive position at the net instead of at the baseline.

"The switch in position turned out to be in our favor," he said.

After the match, Yu thanked his family and the rest of the team for their support and said he was glad to make it to the end as he was fighting cramps.
