Taipei, July 9 (CNA) Taiwanese tennis veteran Hsieh Su-wei (謝淑薇) had her Wimbledon run shattered after been overpowered by Slovakian player Dominika Cibulkova 4-6, 1-6 in the fourth round of the Grand Slam tournament in London on Monday.

Hsieh, who is 48th in the world rankings, lost two straight sets to the Slovakian in a game that lasted one hour and 22 minutes.

But despite her lost, the match marked Hsieh's first career success in making it this far at Wimbledon after beating World No. 1 Simona Halep of Romania in the third round of the women's singles last Saturday.

In the women's doubles event, the Taiwanese and her Czech partner Lucie Hradecka will next face Barbora Krejcikova and Katerina Siniakova of the Czech Republic in the third round later in the day.
