Taipei, June 7 (CNA) Second-seed pair of Latisha Chan (詹詠然) of Taiwan and Ivan Dodig from Croatia overcame their top-seed rivals in a super tiebreaker fight to win the mixed doubles title at the French Open Thursday. It was Chan's first Grand Slam mixed doubles title.

The Chan-Dodig pair triumphed over Gabriela Dabrowski of Canada and Mate Pavic of Croatia, who were winners at this year's Australian Open, in the first set 6-1.

The top seeds managed to rally in the second set, forcing a super tiebreaker. Chan and Dodig had a chance to serve out the match at 5-3 but Dabrowski and Pavic won four of six points in the game to earn a break.

The Canadian-Croatian pair came back from 1-5 down to win it 7-5 and forced a decider to ten but could not keep their momentum going in the first-to-ten, win-by-two super tiebreaker, which would go the Taiwanese-Croatian's way, who won the set 7-6 (5), [10-8].

Chan partnered with Swiss Martina Hingis to win women's doubles title in the U.S. Open last year.
