Filipina actress to celebrate Philippine independence in Taiwan

Taipei, June 5 (CNA) Filipina actress and screenwriter Bela Padilla will celebrate Philippine independence with the Filipino community in Taiwan at the 120th Philippine Independence Day celebrations to be held in New Taipei Sunday, according to Filipino media and entertainment group ABS-CBN.

The event, to be held at the New Taipei Metropolitan Park in the city's Sanchong District, will run in conjunction with a Migrant Worker's Day celebration and also the 3rd FILCOM Friendship Fun Run, the ABS-CBN press release said.

The actress, who starred in the recent romantic comedy "Meet Me in St. Gallen" is expected to show her dance moves during a performance, the press release said.

Padilla is scheduled to hit the stage at 1 p.m. and will be joined by Filipino actor and comedian Negi, according to promotional materials for the event.

Other activities at the celebration will include a parade, Philippine cultural presentations and raffles, according to a Facebook post by the Manila Economic and Cultural Office, the organizers of the event.
