Jeremy Lin returns to Taiwan to coach in Hualien

Taipei, May 31 (CNA) Taiwanese-American NBA player Jeremy Lin (林書豪) returned to Taiwan early Thursday, attracting hundreds of fans who greeted him at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport.

The Brooklyn Nets point guard will travel to Hualien in eastern Taiwan Saturday for a two-day basketball camp where he will coach 60 selected elementary school basketball players.

While in Hualien, he will host a Jeremy Lin Sharing 2018 -- Never Done event on Saturday and a Dream Hauser Jeremy Lin Symposium the following day.

Upon arrival at the airport, Lin said he is recovering well from a knee injury and is expected to be ready for the next baseball season. He expressed gratitude to his fans for waiting there to greet him and bringing him many gifts.

The gifts include a collection of basketball jerseys, bobblehead dolls and old magazines and reports featuring him, Lin said, adding that this shows their strong support for him.

Lin said he came to Taiwan earlier than usual this year and will have only a brief stay because he needs more time for his knee injury recovery.

He disclosed, however, that he will embark on another Asia trip between July and August.

After concluding his visit to Taiwan, Lin will visit Hong Kong June 6-8 before heading to Shanghai June 9.
