Taiwan's Hsieh into Indian Wells women's doubles semi-final

Taipei, March 14 (CNA) One of Taiwan's leading tennis players Hsieh Su-wei (謝淑薇) and her doubles partner reached the women's doubles semifinals at the Indian Wells Masters in California after defeating a U.S.-Slovenia duo in the quarterfinals on Tuesday.

Hsieh and Czech partner Barbora Strycova played Vania King of the U.S. and Katarina Srebotnik of Slovenia, securing victory in two straight sets in just over one hour.

The duo crushed their opponents 6-4, 6-1, and will face off against third seeds Gabriela Dabrowski of Canada and Xu Yifan (徐一幡) of China in the semifinals on Thursday.
