Taipei, Feb. 23 (CNA) Chan Hao-ching (詹皓晴) and her partner Yang Zhaoxuan (楊釗煊) of China fought their way into the finals of the US$2.8 million Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships on Friday.

Chan and Yang, who benefited from a walkover at the hands of third seeds Lucie Safarova and Barbora Strycova of the Czech Republic to reach the semifinals, upended Alicja Rosolska of Poland and Abigail Spears of the United States 6-4, 7-5 to advance to the finals.

Spears and Rosolska had outlasted second seeds Latisha Chan (Chan Hao-ching's sister) of Taiwan and Andrea Hlavackova of the Czech Republic in a tight super tiebreaker on Thursday, and kept the pressure on the Taiwan-China duo, splitting the first eight games of the first set.

But Chan and Yang took the final two games to capture the set and sped to a 3-0 lead in the second set.

Rosolska and Spears came back to take a 5-4 lead, putting them on the verge of forcing the match to a super tiebreaker, but Chan and Yang ran off the final three games to clinch victory.

"Advancing to the women's doubles finals in Dubai, continue to make an all-out effort tomorrow! Lets go!" wrote Chan on her Facebook page after her semifinal victory.

They will face either Hsieh Su-wei (謝淑薇) of Taiwan and her partner Peng Shuai (彭帥) of China or top-seeded Ekaterina Makarova and Elena Vesnina of Russia in the final.

Hsieh and Peng were to take the court just after Friday midnight Taiwan time.
