Jakarta, Jan. 25 (CNA) Taiwanese badminton player Tai Tzu-ying (戴資穎) cruised through to the quarterfinals of the 2018 Indonesia Masters on Thursday with an easy win over her compatriot Lee Chia-hsin (李佳馨).

Tsai, the world's No. 1 in women's singles, won the match in 22 minutes, finishing 21-14, 21-13.

The two players seemed equally matched at the start, with Tai leading by only a couple of points and Lee playing to a 4-4 tie.

However, Tai soon picked up her game and maintained the lead all the way to the end of the first set.

In the second set, Tai really showed off her skills, scoring five straight points and making it impossible for Lee to catch up.

When the score was 12-7, Tai racked up another six straight points, before finishing strong with a score of 21-13.

Tai will face Sung Ji-hyun of South Korea Friday in bid to make it into the semifinals.
