Taiwan's Chan sisters advance to doubles finals at Hong Kong Open

Taipei, Oct. 13 (CNA) Top-seeded Taiwanese sisters Chan Yung-jan (詹詠然) and Chan Hao-ching (詹皓晴) advanced to the doubles final of the Prudential Hong Kong Tennis Open after beating their rivals in the semifinals on Friday. The duo defeated Japanese pair Eri Hozumi and Miyu Kato 6-1, 6-7 (5-7), 10-2 in one hour and 34 minutes.

The victory marked the Chan sisters' second time they reached the finals of the annual Hong Kong tennis championship. The first time was last year.

In another match held Friday, Taiwanese player Chang Kai-chen (張凱貞) and her Australian partner Monique Adamczak also celebrated their victory against Desirae Krawczyk of the United States and Giuliana Olmos of Mexico 6-4, 4-6, 10-3 in the quarterfinals.

Chang and Adamczak will next compete against Chinese duo Lu Jiajing and Wang Qiang in the semifinals on Saturday for a spot in the finals on Sunday.
