UNIVERISADE: Taiwan wins silver in men's singles table tennis

Taipei, Aug. 29 (CNA) Taiwanese Chen Chien-an (陳建安) lost to Masataka Morizono of Japan 1-4 in the men's singles table tennis final at the Taipei Universiade on Tuesday, earning a silver in the event.

Chen, listed 51st in the world rankings, won only one of the five games in the match against Morizono, who is ranked 66th in the world.

The silver medal marked Chen's best Universiade performance, after he won a bronze in the 2013 biennial world university games in Kazan, Russia.
