Taiwan remains 4th in world men's baseball rankings

Taipei, March 29 (CNA) Taiwan maintained fourth place in the global rankings of men's baseball, despite a poor performance at the recent World Baseball Classic (WBC), according to the latest rankings released by the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC).

Japan topped the rankings, followed by the United States and South Korea.

After Taiwan in fourth place, the other top-10 men's teams were Cuba, Mexico, Venezuela, Australia, Netherlands and Canada.

In the women's softball rankings, Taiwan was ranked ninth worldwide.

Japan again led the list, followed by the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, China, Puerto Rico and Netherlands.

Taiwan was eliminated in the first round of this year's WBC tournament with zero wins and three losses in the Pool A competitions in Seoul and finished 14th among the 16 participating countries.
