Taipei, March 25 (CNA) Two players on China's ice hockey team have been suspended for one game in connection with an incident that occurred Friday at a game against the Taiwan team at the IIHF Ice Hockey U18 World Championship in Taipei.

The two players are Wang Ziqiao (王梓橋) and Wang Jing (王京), who instigated the fracas, the Chinese Taipei Ice Hockey Federation said Saturday, citing a ruling by the International Ice Hockey Federation's Disciplinary Committee.

The clash erupted after Wang Ziqiao hit Taiwan's Chung Chia-yen (鍾佳諺) at the end of a game between the two teams on Friday, which China won 4-0.

The incident angered some spectators, who began throwing plastic bottles and folding chairs onto the field, and the Chinese players responded by pelting objects at the crowd.
