Russian skater wins gold at junior figure skating championships

Taipei, March 18 (CNA) Alina Zagitova of Russia won the gold medal in the junior ladies category at the 2017 World Junior Figure Skating Championships in Taipei Saturday.

Zagitova obtained a total of 208.60 points after finishing with 138.02 in free skating, both marking her best personal scores.

The silver medal went to Marin Honda of Japan, who received a total score of 201.61, including 133.26 in free skating.

Kaori Sakamoto of Japan won the bronze medal with a total score of 195.54, after ending with 127.76 in free skating.

Taiwan's Amy Lin (林仁語) took 21st place with a total score of 125.91.
